Should I change the transmission oil in my dodge van 1979? Should I change the transmission oil in my dodge van 1979? I bought it about 10 months ago and drove over 2000 miles with it so far. It drives really nice for it's age and I have no problem with it. Recently I checked my motor and trans oil and they were leveled at full but the trans oil is a dark color and has a very light burned smell. I can't remember if it was like that when I bought it. I asked a few and they tell me the trans oil is suppose to be red which mine is far from that color. A trans oil change is a little expensive but I am willing to change it if it will help out save the van for a few more years. The only thing I spoke with my neighbor's dad and he said sometimes putting in new oil in can actually ruin the trans because the gears could start slipping... Any advice here would be amazingly appreciated... I am about to do some fun camping with her, should be a good time :) car insurance. Auto parts : Cable Lock Dodge 2005. Cable Lock Mount Eagle 2006. Eagle . How to Touch Up Plastic Gauges in the Inside of a CarDue to the exposure to open windows, road grime, and accidental spills, car interiors get dirty. The plastic dashboard gauges and dials are not immune to the grime buildup and require a touch-up every now and then to restore their luster. Take a few minutes to buff and polish up the dashboard and plastic gauges in your auto. Besides making the car look better, the dials will become easier to read, thus adding a level of safety to your driving. Difficulty:Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Paper towels Non-abrasive cleanser Plastic lens cleaner Vinyl cleaner Step by Step : 1 Squirt some of the non-abrasive cleaner onto a folded paper towel and wipe the gauges in a circular motion to remove any residue or grit. Wipe away the excess cleanser. 2 Use the edge of a paper towel to "floss" around the dashboard and gauges to remove any accumulation from the hard-to-get-to cracks. 3 Spray the gauges with lens cleaner and wipe down the gauges to make them shine and restore the visibility to the gauge panels. 4 Spray a vinyl cleaner, such as Armor All, on the dashboard and gauges and wipe away the excess to add a protective coating to the gauge covers and dashboard.
Eagle . DIY Car GlassNot much compares to the shock and anguish of having a rock or other projectile hit and chip your windshield. Chips are among the most common windshield damage problems. Before the chip forms into a crack, you can fix it with a simple windshield chip repair kit. This job is best done in the sunlight because the sun helps cure the repair compound after you have eliminated the chip. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Syringe windshield repair kit Knife Glass cleaner Towel or rag Step by Step : 1 Clean the damaged area with glass cleaner. Let it completely dry; this takes roughly 10 minutes, depending on the temperature. Place a towel or rag under the damaged area to ensure you don't spill any repair compound onto the paint. 2 Push the hole out of your adhesive disc. The hole should already be started by the manufacturer, so the hole can be made easily by simply pushing out the plastic in the center. Peel off the backing and press it against the glass. Position the hole over the damaged area. Point the tab up. 3 Peel off the backing from the top side of the disc. Press the pedestal onto it. Ensure the tabs align at the top. 4 Pull the cap off the syringe. Insert it into the pedestal. Twist the syringe until it is seated. Pull the plunger to suck out the air. Hold it there for a moment then push in to force your compound into the crack. Repeat 10 times. 5 Allow the windshield to sit in the sun for at least 30 minutes to cure the compound. Enter your vehicle and check for any air bubbles. Repeat the process if necessary. 6 Remove the syringe. Cut the disc and pedestal with a knife and wipe off any remaining compound. *cles have fuel injectors. Some cars — especially foreign cars and sports cars — have more than one carburetor. Vehicles with fuel injection or diesel engines have none, but they do have air cleaners. Figure 6-1 shows both a carbureted and a fuel-injected system. With both systems, the fuel may start out in the same place (the fuel tank) and end up in the same place (the engine), but the path it takes varies quite a bit depending on whether your vehicle has a carburetor or fuel injectors. In this section, I explain what happens to the fuel once it passes through the basic elements of the fuel system (discussed in the preceding section, "Basic Fuel System Components") in a carbureted vehicle. The main job of the carburetor, shown in Figure 6-3, is to mix the proper pro portions of air and fuel together and pass them along in the proper quantity to the engine. In the following sections, I explain how the various compo nents of the carburetor work together to accomplish this feat. The float bowl Air travels down the carburetor barrel, and on its way, it passes a small pipe that leads to a fuel reservoir called a float bowl. The float bowl is a small chamber located in the carburetor (see Figure 6-4). It contains a small Eagle . Used wrong key in car lock and its stuck?
